La Table Provençale

So that dinner I was talking about… I have to bite my fist before I say this but, in terms of food quality and taste, I think L’Auberge Provençale might have Inn at Little Washington beat. I was absolutely blown away considering I had absolutely no expectations for this meal – everything we had was both delicious and innovative, our favorites being the Halibut with Pork Jus and Artichokes Three Ways, White Asparagus with Egg Yolk and Morels, and Parsnip Cake with Ginger (but honestly every course was remarkable). We earned our meal earlier in the day by taking a beautiful hike that B planned off of Skyline Drive, something we’ve been meaning to do for ages. It took us to a series of waterfalls, where we enjoyed a picnic of sandwiches from the Locke Store – pretty perfect way to spend an afternoon!
