I brought one very reasonable pair for a black tie dinner party, but wore flats for everything else. The cobblestone sidewalks are steep and very slippery, so rubber soles are key. Bring sneakers! Lisbon as a city leans casual and a bit beachy. Yummy restaurants here too! @avidaportuguesa - the best shop in Lisbon for gifts & Portuguese goodies @companhia.do.campo - beautiful bright and laid-back home decor @joalhariadocarmo - stunningly ornate filigree jewelry (an art unique to Portugal) @ceramicafactory - colorful and affordable Portuguese-made ceramics & tableware @lojareal - across the street from EmbaiXada, another palace housing independent vendors @21pr.conceptstore - a fantastic selection of bags, jewelry and candles - I wanted to bring so much home! @amelieautheatre - vibrant clothing and accessories, a super fun vibe @futah - maker of my favorite beach towels! Rolling hills, lush gardens, and a dreamy salt wat Rolling hills, lush gardens, and a dreamy salt water pool — the @goodstoneinn has the quaint country setting with the thoughtful amenities of a luxury resort. (Honestly, “inn” sells it short.) My favorite things: • a room that was just as cozy as it was luxe • taking my coffee in the garden and listening to the birds • geeking out over all the vegetables and herbs grown in their on-site sustainable garden • meeting many cute animals on the farm (that donkey! 🥹) • enjoying the most delicious eggs for breakfast direct from their chickens • hiking their 200+ acre property on one of the many beautiful trails • stargazing by the fire pit after dinner I actually went to high school just down the road from here and have always been curious about this fabulous place. Thank you Goodstone for offering me and my husband a lovely anniversary stay and bringing back many great memories of spending time in this area.
