wearing American Giant button-down and sweater (c/o), Citizens of Humanity jeans (sold out, similar), M.Gemi loafers, and Strathberry bag
Ok, I’ll make this post brief – I love American Giant for really good, everyday basics that will last. Their t-shirts and tank tops were the ones I reached for most often this summer and I live in their hoodie and sweatpants on more days than I’d care to admit. So when they reached out about having me try some of their fall pieces, I knew I had to try their sweaters and their newly-released button-down. Here’s the thing: the button-down is actually for men, but that’s kind of exactly what I was looking for. I wore my husband’s old shirt to death this summer and very much wanted something similar to replace it. This one is way better quality and honestly “fits” me better in that “borrowed-from-the-boys” kind of way.
As for the sweater, this v-neck is just on the cusp of oversized without being frumpy – another piece I’d been searching for. The merino wool is smooth and soft and totally not itchy. Though, I haven’t had it long, I have a strong hunch this is one of those fabrics that won’t pill over time.
Wait, was this post even brief at all? I don’t know. Maybe I got a little too excited about these pieces, but the point is they’re both really great. American Giant’s mission is to make clothing that’s “durable, not disposable” – something I can attest to be true based on the items I already own.
