living for the tie-front dress

Can we just talk about how flattering this silhouette is? Tie front dresses fit like a dream up top and flare in all the right places. I tried on this dress earlier this year before going to Paris, but stupidly didn’t get it. It went on sale shortly after I came back and I knew it was meant to be. I feel oh so French whenever I wear it (which is pretty much nonstop) – layered up with a bunch of gold necklaces, straw market bag, and understated flat sandals.

This was from our recent trip to Hot Springs, VA, home to the Homestead Resort where these photos were taken. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s wonderful to see that this resort has become increasingly child-friendly over the years. We love taking our son to the extensive outdoor pool complex and playing lawn games before dinner. The food scene has improved in this area, too. One of our recent favorites is Les Cochon D’Or, a French-American, farm-to-table style restaurant in downtown Hot Springs. We eat here almost every time we visit and the quality easily rivals that of our favorite DC restaurants.
