Does anyone else miss their blazers and heels? Sweatpants were fun the first week or so, the novelty has definitely worn off for me. I shot this look just before quarantine and was holding off posting, because it didn’t feel relevant. But honestly, I’ve found dressing up to be a mood-lifter. And there’s science behind that. Experts say dressing up for work, even when you’re working from home, makes you more productive. I believe it. When I take the time to put myself together in the morning, I feel more organized and confident.

Since my office dress code doesn’t normally allow jeans, I’ve been enjoying “breaking the rules” and throwing a blazer on with tailored jeans like this pair. Zoom meeting-appropriate on top, comfortable and cool on the bottom! As for the heels, well, I admit they’ve been sorely neglected during quarantine. But in my spare time I’ve been styling post-COVID-19 outfits like crazy and this beautiful pair by M. Gemi factors in heavily. The fancy loafer trend has been one of my favorites this spring. This pair checks all the boxes. Cool heel. Fun color-blocking. On-trend square toe. They look fabulous with cropped white pants, knit shirt dresses, and (obviously) jeans. This was my first pair of M. Gemi shoes and the quality definitely lives up to the hype. If you want to snag a pair of your own, use code ELISABETH60 to get $60 off your order!

I’m curious, are you guys dressing up during quarantine? What are your go-to work from home formulas right now?

Thank you M. Gemi for lovely loafers! Photos shot (pre-COVID-19) by Pablo Raya in Georgetown.

Such fun heels!!! And I looooove that oversized blazer, such a great color too!
I’ve been working from home for 6 years now and I rarely get dressed, haha. I’m so lazy! But it is getting sad to not have weekends to get dressed and go places, even if its just the grocery store or my parents. So I think I may start getting dressed soon just to break it up a bit.

What a simple and chic outfit.
I am dressing up about once a week.
I dream of going outside dressed up but I know things will never be the same.
If we are to wear masks then only eyes will require make up. All will change.

Same… dressing up has been a mood-lifter for me as well. I like to get ready as if I’m going out.

First of all, I absolutely love your fashion sense! I find it so inspiring and pretty. Secondly, my quarantine capsule wardrobe consists of cropped cardigans, jeans, peasant blouses, and slippers.
