I think I’ve mentioned before that one of the things that keeps me blogging after all these years is the opportunity to meet and work with fellow creatives. A few weeks ago I had a really fun opportunity to do just that when I modeled in a photoshoot for a locally-based jewelry line, Queen Bee Designs. Georgia Arnold of Gloss and Harbour, who I know through instagram, reached out to me about working on this fun project alongside Anchyi Wei (one of my favorite DC fashionistas) and Chelsea Park-Brouse, a super-talented young photographer. I styled a few different looks (and I can’t wait to share the others in upcoming posts), but I wanted to start with this one since it was shot in one of my favorite spots in DC, right next to the Decatur House. Chelsea did such a wonderful job of capturing the moment and the resulting photos are DC elegance at its best, IMHO.
Alison Priebe, Queen Bee’s designer, grew up in the DC area, like myself, so it was fun chatting with her. She’s been dressing DC’s finest for years (Nancy Pelosi, Ann Romney, and Hilary Clinton, just to name a few) and her pieces have been featured nationally in Lucky, Glamour, and Women’s Wear Daily. All of her pieces are super fun, but versatile, and easily lend themselves to mixing and matching. I love how she styled these two pearl necklaces together for this look – a fun twist on the classic pearl necklace/black dress combo. Her ecommerce site is coming soon so stay tuned, but in the meantime, you can shop her pieces at her showroom in Alexandria, VA or by emailing her directly (details on her site).
