Ugggh, does anyone else hate that stupid expression as much as I do?! If I see it on one more women’s magazine, I’m going to scream. I like the idea of bettering oneself as much as the next girl, but “new me?” Did the “old me” really suck that badly? I really wish the object of mainstream fashion magazines wasn’t to turn us all into cookie cutter pods.
Griping aside, New Year’s Eve was a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to getting some things accomplished in this new year, namely purchasing a home – adulthood is scary!
K and I got our caricatures done – sooo amazing!
And I’m totally thrilled to have made the Weardrobe 100! And next to Fashion Chalet, one of my favorite bloggers, no less!! I also want to thank the BonBon Rose girls for the shout out in their Deck Yourself Out in 2010 with Bejeweled Pieces post. They’re having a giveaway, too, so make sure to check it out!

That top is absolutely stunning. I love it.
And yes, I hate that saying too!!
Wowza, love the top! I hate that expression too. Congrats on the feature.
I hate that saying…and it's in almost ever January issue, too– you'd think the editors would wise up and use a different saying. Or dump the feature altogether.
Love that top! 🙂 Congrats on the weardrobe kudos! – JoAnn, Sidewalk Chalk
you have the best lace tops!! i love this one so much! 😀 happy new year dear<3
You really look like your caricature! And I adore your top! Happy new year!
I'm crazy for Ur skirt!
I love your top! You always have such pretty outfits!!:)
Both your top and skirt are incredible pieces!
I hate "new year new you" I lost count of how many times it was said to me at work today!
That skirt is fabulous! And yes, that phrase annoys the shiz outta me, too.
You look so gorgeous. That skirt is absolutely magical.
love the beading on the skirt!
the lace on that top is gorgeous. and i'm loving your eye make-up in this post. 🙂
and that caricature is awesome!
gorgeous skirt!happy new year!
Your sparkles and layers are stunning and grown up and also playful. I love how they go with your hair, too. Congrats on Weardrobe! Buying a home? Terrifying! But worth it! Good luck, my dear. 🙂
You look stunning! I'm especially in love with that skirt!
And I have to agree with you about the "New year, new you" expression.
I do hope you had a fantastic time ringing in the new year. I hope you have a great 2010!
totally adore the skirt and the way youve done your eye make up dear!!
Love the skirt… you are indeed fabulous. Congrats on making it to Weardrobe 100. You totally deserve it.
You look so pretty and I love the caricature!!! I want one about myself too!
Happy, Happy New Year!
yeah, that saying is pretty awful. That tank is so pretty, and I love all the detailing in this outfit!
wow congrats with the weardrobe 100! i totally love your skirt. it blends well with your top and shoes. fantastic look for new year!
belated happy new year to you dear 🙂
you are sooo beautiful E! great outfit. happy new year, and congrats!
wow that top is incredible :)++
Aw. You look so sweet in these pictures. Your complexion is glowing! Congrats on the Weardrobe 100. I have to go check it out!!
I love this outfit. Great skirt! And congrats 🙂
This is so gorgeous! I love love love that cami, and the skirt is just perfect.
And yeah, that "new you" line is terrible and exploits women who have bad self esteem. I am all about fresh starts and love the opportunity for a clean slate, but I don't need a new me, I just usually need to kick a bad habit (i.e., chocolate every day, LOL).
This look is BY FAR the best NYE outfit I've seen on the blogs. In a sea of sequined dresses, it's so refreshing. And oh boy, do I love that camisole!!!
Your top is beautiful! Great look.
Haha – your post made me think of the song "New You" by the Vandals. It's about the a guy trying to get with the "old you" but the "new you" keeps getting in the way. I think you'd like it! 🙂
Your blouse is gorgeous! Happy new year!
Love ur top and heels.. and I agree, that expression is such a bad cliche.. ^_^
God's Favorite Shoes!
loving the whole look, especially that top and shoes!
Stunning lace top with the black sparkly skirt! You always look amazing girl:)
And the drawing of you is so adorable! Cheers to a great 2010 for you and congrats on your features!
"New you" I can take. It's "effortlessly chic" that's going to lead me to take a chainsaw to someone.
What beautiful pieces! The top is insanely gorgeous.
Congrats on making the top 100! That's awesome!
Lace on lace … didn't know it could be done … you did it to perfection! Congratulations on making it to the Weardrobe 100 … you deserve it!
congrats, darling, well deserved!
and you look fabulous of course 🙂
that's one of the reasons I don't read women magazines. I can't stand that crap either, along with pretentious titles like "50 Tips For Getting In Shape Til Summer", "15 Must Have January Items" and "20 Ways To Turn Him On". aaaargh!
your outfit is super cool and so is the caricature! =)

What a gorgeous, gorgeous outfit! I also hate that phrase and how obnoxiously crowded the gym is January with all the people who buy into that crap.

I love the lacey top! its very pretty!
you look GORGEOUS! such a fun and ladylike look!
Ha – did the old me suck that bad?!! Totally made me laugh, that line is worn out. I love your necklace!
You look elegant as always and yes, I'm not much for "self-improvement" –"self-acceptance" is way better. 🙂
The detail on that top is exquisite, I would have thought it was vintage!
WOW. I love this outfit. the top is gorgeous but so is the skirt. Great look.
I'm catching up on my blog reading. No matter what "you" you choose, I'll still enjoy reading your blog 🙂
