dressing for formal events in this season’s “it” color

So it would appear I’m not over yellow yet. To be honest, I never thought yellow was my color, but I’m starting to think this particular shade of gold might look good on just about anyone. I’m loving this hue for formal occasions like weddings this summer. Gowns just seem a lot more flirty and fun in yellow and you’ll definitely stand out in a sea of dark suits (see How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days). Just make sure you stick to fancier fabrics like satin or silk or you run the risk of looking like you’re going to a picnic. I styled this gorgeous Jonathan Simkhai dress with black and gold accessories for an evening event, but I’m sure it would just as lovely with white strappy sandals for day.
