Khaki is back baby! An old prepster favorite and a school dress code-raised kid’s worst nightmare, khaki is a somewhat polarizing color for me. As I mentioned in this post, it’s taken me years to warm up to it, but seeing it in a modern context (repurposed into structured shapes, layered with similar tones, and styled with a more utilitarian vibe) has most definitely changed my tune. A good khaki piece was on my spring shopping list and this skirt checked all of my boxes. I think it looks wonderful paired with black and beige and layered against a more feminine fabric like silk or satin. Expect to see this skirt in regular rotation this spring and summer – I can’t wait to style it with a crop top and oversized blazer!

It’s true, I have less than pleasant memories of khaki, but I like seeing it in this new light!
