You might have noticed there’s been crickets on the Sunday dinner front lately. Well there’s a reason for that. The little one started eating solid foods just a few months ago and since he eats what we eat, our dinners have gotten a lot simpler. But that doesn’t mean we don’t still appreciate a more interesting meal once in a while. Usually this means takeout once a week, but the options are limited (one can only eat so much Thai food and Peruvian chicken, as much as I love them both). Thank God for Munchery. They invited us to try some of their delicious, chef-made meals now that they’ve recently started serving the DC area. We found their selection to be a healthy and, honestly, much more refined alternative to takeout. Also their diverse options are perfect for households with different tastes – say one person’s in the mood for Italian but the other’s feeling ramen. Everyone can be accommodated, even kids. It’s a great service for working professionals like ourselves that have accepted it’s pretty much physically impossible to cook seven nights a week, but still like to have a fresh-made meal.

Our favorites were the Pan-Seared Albacore Rice Bowl (light, yet satisfying; I could easily eat this once a week and not get tired of it) and the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast biscuit (fluffy, buttery, and rich, my mouth is watering just thinking about it).

If you’re in the DC area, you can try Munchery now, too! Just use code MUNCHERYDC and when you try your first meal, you’ll get the second one free!
