It seems like spring is finally here and it might be warm enough to safely plant some new things in my garden. This year I want to add more evergreen plants so things don’t like quite so bare in the wintertime. I recently picked up two camellias and I’m thinking about investing in a Magnolia tree. Anyway, I’ve been hoarding pinterest ideas for what to plant and where so these were a few of my recent faves. My favorite gardens aren’t too fussy and incorporate clumps of different colors and textures.

What are your gardening “goals” this year?

I am a terrible gardener, but this is making me want to try!

What lovely gardening aspirations.
Right now my garden is limited to potted plants, but there are lots of hooks on the porch and I’m excited about having tons of hanging baskets.
In my dream home a magnolia and a cherry blossom tree would be a must!

i’m not saying i’m awfully good at it, but i do love a bit of gardening! i’ve planted so many tomatoes and other vegetables and herbs already and can’t wait for it to be warm enough to take them out (we still have snow hahaha). it’d be amazing to have your own magnolia tree! and these garden pictures are dreamy. xx

Good for you with the veggies! I’ve only been able to do herbs and spicy peppers because the bunnies in our yard seem to eat everything else šŸ™

Some beautiful photos! We’re in our first home and we’re so excited to tranform our square of green into something beautiful! If only I knew where to start…

Yes evergreens are a must! While it was beautiful over the Summer, I made the mistake of only planting pretty posies and now that Autumn has hit our garden is completely bare and in desperate need of a haul-over – off to pinterest I go for some inspiration!

I made the same mistake when we first moved into our house and now I’m trying my best to remedy my bare garden!

This is beautiful inspiration! That wisteria vine is gorgeous! We had a large one, but my husband, who is my gardener, said it had to go because it takes over and kills everything else around it. But I love the way they look! Love the camellias too!

They do take over! I would love one, but I don’t know if I could handle the upkeep!

My tiny front garden was dismantled to accommodate porch construction. As soon as it’s done I’m replanting the garden and also creating a garden in the curb strip. I’m going to use the same plants in both spaces (Wisconsin natives and treats for pollinators) to create a garden hallway. Added bonus: the city is planting a service berry tree in the curb strip! Soon it will be the tiniest nature park. šŸ™‚

That sounds lovely! I’m really into the idea of using native plants, too, and hope to incorporate a few into my own garden!
