headboard hunting

Since we moved into our new house, I've become acutely aware of the lack of headboard in our bedroom. We used to have a piece of wrought iron fence that I found at an antique store, but we weren't prepared to nail it into our newly painted walls to keep it from wobbling. Anyway, I've been saving loads of headboard inspiration in the past year. Which is your favorite?

  1. Wow! I love them ALL. Personally, my favorite is probably the last, as I'm a bit obsessed with natural wood, and how a great piece of it can swing both rustic and modern. However, that orange velvet one is divine, as is the yellow mirrored one. And the starburst is just so dramatic and gorgeous.

Then again, the wrought iron that you already have might be too good to pass up. Could you attach it to a painted frame to minimize wall damage?

  7. First I was like, oh the 3rd one. Then I was like no, the 4th one. The 5th one! The 6th one! These are too good. I can't pick. The gold starburst is amazing, the brighter side of the bed, the fence gate.

  11. Oh, I am such a fan of the chalkboard one-- except I tend to read in bed and would totally end up with chalkdust in my hair (yech!).

  20. My favorite is the first one, but they're all lovely minus the chalkboard one which would only remind me of the annoying sound of nails being dragged on it!

  21. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm totally smitten with the chalkboard one.

PS -- How clever is this outlined headboard that I just spotted on Because I'm Addicted?

  22. Gorgeous headboard inspiration! I am in a similar boat (headboard less) and I too have been compiling my favorite images. I will have to add these to the mix!

I really love the upholstered and tufted options. The chalkboard one is really sweet and unique. Tough call!
