resurrection of a wing chair

This is more of a home decor post than an outfit one. One of the many exciting things about moving into our new home has been that I have been able to bust my recently recovered wing chairs out of storage. This is one of them.

resurrection of a wing chair

When I got these chairs, they were covered in some beige floral fabric that was just not my bag. I was looking for a blue and white fabric to recover them with and, I have to say, the choice was easy when I found this mesmerizing pattern. My general furniture-buying philosophy is to buy cheap and used, then update as needed. Sky Upholstery recovered these and I think they did a wonderful job for a very reasonable price. The fabric came from Calico Corners (which has a great online “lookbook,” chock full of decorating ideas).

I am in love with this damask print. I have this wonderful boudoir chair that my husband wants to chuck but I refuse. Just needs a face lift… much like this.

And the outfit is impeccable.

You did a great job — that chair has a fabulous design! I'm really excited about moving to a bigger place too so that I can decorate as much as I want.

Even though this isn't a style post, I like your outfit. I didn't think it was possible for those shoes to look any cooler, but those socks bring it to another level 🙂

What a wonderful chair! I would happily sit and read a Dickens novel in it. Also, I notice you've gone for the ankle socks and shoes look, which is definitely the way forward as we approach autumn.

Oh, I love Calico Corners! There used to be one just down the street from my old apartment – I found some clearance fabric and recovered an old bench with it!

Can we talk about these photos now? Because I love them. Everything from your outfit to the recovered chairs is perfection!

LOVE the structure and fabric on those chairs, and what a skirt! Great job pulling off the socks with sandals look, a trend which, despite it's potential for cuteness, is often poorly executed. Yours make the cut! (errrr, my cut), haha. Love it!

I don't know what I love more, your outfit our you chairs! I want to just steal this pic and tape it on my wall for inspiration!

Because that would be kind of creepy, and because I'm lazy, I am just going to hang it on my mental fridge. Um…You know what I mean.

But yes, LOVE LOVE LOVE!
