We went to Tonic for a friend's birthday party. I generally enjoy this place, and perhaps it was because we arrived earlier than usual (9ish), but I was taken aback by the rather rigid table service only policy. I don't generally appreciate a bar that deters standing and, therefore, mingling. Minor annoyances aside, I had a wonderful time catching up with friends I hadn't seen in a while, discovering unexpected connections, and creating fantasy hybrid names. "Strauzioli" was the obvious winner. Doesn't that sound like some delicious pastry just waiting to be invented? If you create it, I demand royalties.

I have a love hate relationship with Missoni. I think some times people look they got in a fist fight with a rainbow while wearing an overly priced knits.
