The Waterford Fair

The Waterford Fair

Last weekend, B and I went to the Waterford Fair, which is pretty much the ultimate fall activity, right up there with apple picking and hay rides. Not only is the setting completely and totally picturesque, but the fair features a mind-boggling assortment of treasures from incredibly talented craftspeople. We were only there for a few hours, but one could easily fill an entire day checking out all the galleries, performances, and historic home tours.

One of my favorite things about this fair is seeing all of the craft demonstrations. Metalworking, basket making, wood carving – absolutely mesmerizing. I wish I had allowed more time to see more of these.

The flower barn was totally wild. Martha Stewart hocked up on amphetamines would be overwhelmed by the possibilities. It was hard to walk away with just a lavender wreath and small bouquet of dried wild flowers, and that was really only because B put his foot down.

The antique tractors were also pretty gnarly. My favorite was this one, because the wheels are badass.

These jeans are one of those ambiguous dark shades that you rack your brain trying to decide if they’re black or blue. I’m pretty sure they’re a very dark blue, but it’s anyone’s guess.

Aren’t these shoes comical? I’m definitely a Docs child so it thrilled me to find a new style that I liked.

What fun! I love fall for the trips to farms and enjoying the fruits of harvest 🙂

I'm really loving your classic look, and the grown-up heel loafers 🙂 Reminds me of the Bass, patent penny loafers I had in middle school… I wish I still had those shoes!

Happy Sunday 🙂

Ahhh, the fair looks like so much fun! I used to go to craft fairs with my mum every summer, and they had the same kind of craftsmans doing demos. I love to watch a glassblower do his thing. (that sounds weird…I hope you know what I mean).

Love your Docs! Surprised to read that they are actually docs tho, they're pretty damn cute. And a stacked heel is great for fall, much more stable.

There's nothing that says "fall" like a fair! Great pics.

BTW I just got my first pair of Docs recently! Not cute ones like yours but some classic super tall ones, in "peacock" haha.

Glad to see you're still blogging 😀
