One of our favorite holiday traditions is decorating the mantle. We put on "The Nutcracker" radio, make a fancy cheese plate, and open a nice bottle of wine while we hang up the Christmas stockings, garlands, and copious amounts of candles.

For many of us, Thanksgiving will look very differ

For many of us, Thanksgiving will look very different this year. I’m lucky that my parents live nearby, so we’ll be able to enjoy it together, but we’re still taking precautions. We’ll be dining outdoors and eating at socially distanced tables, which means I will be dressing warmly. A big chunky knit over a cute midi skirt with boots is just the ticket! I’ve spent so much time indoors lately, I’m actually looking forward to finally dressing for *real* fall weather. 🍂

With the weather getting colder & the days getting shorter, my husband and I have been craving rich, hearty meals. So for our recent @farnientewinery Hosted at Home cabarnet-themed virtual wine tasting, we decided to make the ultimate cold weather comfort food: meatloaf. There's something special about pairing a rustic, home-cooked meal with a really excellent wine. @nickelandnickelwinery’s Branding Iron Cabarnet's beautiful balance of bright red fruit & spice goes wonderfully with a throwback classic like meatloaf. It's a perfect reminder that wine pairings should be fun & can elevate the humblest of foods!
