wearing Barbour quilted vest (similar), Sezane blouse, & Other Stories jeans, Office of Angela Scott boots, and Strathberry bag

It’s that time of year again — the first signs of warmth and you’re ready to bust out all of your frilly spring tops and dresses, but the weather just won’t cooperate. This year my favorite layering piece is an oversized vest. It’s very laid-back and unpretentious and it gives feminine pieces like this blouse a dressed-down contrast. Here I went for a weekend hunt country vibe by styling it with straight-leg jeans and these classic Office of Angela Scott ankle boots; but it would look just as cool over a flowy maxi dress and lug-sole boots. Here are few other vest options I’m loving right now:

The Classic Quilted. You know I’m a sucker for the classics, so naturally I just raiding my husband’s closet and snagged his Barbour vest when this trend started making the rounds. If you’re looking for similar look, I recommend trying this oversized version on sale in 3 colors or this one for a steal.

The Pullover Knit. This one looks super cute over button-downs now, but would transition equally well over a simple tee as it gets warmer. I love the idea of pairing it with a fun pair of pastel pants!

The Knit Cardigan. Worn open or buttoned, this one would look cool solo or sleeveless with a tank on warmer days.

The Western Denim. If you want to bring a little edge to your look, definitely take a look at this one. I love the exaggerated shoulder and the pink version would be perfect for spring and summer outfits!

The Fleece. Last, but not least is a sportier style to style over leggings or sweats, but don’t discount its potential for scandi-style outfits with nightgown dresses and chunky sandals.

Which one is your fave?

Ooh I love that vest, every little detail is perfect! Stealing from the guys is the best, haha! We haven’t been having the best weekend weather lately, which is really the only time I’m out of loungewear these days, but hopefully soon I can start bringing a bit of spring to my looks. I probably need to get a non-faux fur vest since that’s all I seem to have in my closet.
