As much as I like to be creative with my outfits, when I’m in a hurry, I often deviate to what’s easiest. My winter weekend uniform this season has unintentionally become a combo of some sort of statement coat, a chunky knit, and combat boots. The best part about this look is it makes it looks you tried, even if you didn’t. The combat boots are very much on-trend, but weather-appropriate for wet winter days. And the eye-catching coat is the coup de grâce over what could be a very simple combo of an oversized knit and pants. I love collecting fun coats for exactly this reason and you don’t have to spend a fortune to replicate this look. I found this vintage coat in a thrift store many moons ago and it’s still one of my favorites.
Lately, I’ve been loving Rent the Runway Unlimited for the great selection of fun coats. The one I’m wearing in the second look is NVLT – a very affordable brand that appears to specialize in interesting print mixes. If you’re looking to shop this look, I linked a few more reasonably-priced statement coats below and if you want to try Rent the Runway’s selection, my code EPENDER50 for $200 off a 2 month trial of Unlimited expires Feb. 1, so make sure you take advantage before it’s gone!
