I’ve been a Viktor & Rolf fan for quite some time now and always look forward to their couture shows. This year, however, really hit a home run for me. With an attention to detail that any artist would admire, they assembled broken 17th-century Dutch Golden Age canvas frames over paint-spattered denim painters’ shirts. And the coolness doesn’t end there. These pieces were actually hangable and were displayed on the walls of Palais de Tokyo after going down the runway. But of course all of these artsy references were seamlessly incorporated into cleverly-disguised couture – it takes a subtle hand to take on this theme without coming across kitschy. Check out the video below to see these incredible pieces in action.
