What a truly stunning city Budapest is! The architecture is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. And not to diminish the other beautiful places we visited, but if I had to pick one place to spend more time in, it would probably be Budapest. We spent our first night wandering around the light-filled streets of Pest (the portion of the city on the east bank of the Danube), sampling some of the delicious foods and hot beverages at the Christmas Market, and peeking in cute shops filled with embroidered lace, hand-painted ornaments, and beautiful cut crystal. The next day we checked out the castle district of Buda (west bank) and visited Matthias Church and admired the dazzling painted patterns inside (I wish my photos had turned out a little better of the incredible detail inside, but you’ll just have to visit and see for yourself ;-).

Ray-Ban wayfarers
Echo scarf (old, new style here)
Bel Air coat (love this one)
vintage sweater
gloves from last year’s Cologne Christmas Market
DL1961 denim
Freda Salvador boots
Mansur Gavriel bag (sold out, beautiful one here)

I am very happy to hear your favorite is Budapest. My hometown! 🙂

Matthias Church is one of the most beautiful churches ever. Do not you think?

Oh I almost forgot… I wanted to ask what did you eat? Something traditional Hungarian?

@Janet I'm sorry to say I didn't make it to any fancy restaurants while we were there (a friend recommended Gundal, which sounded amazing but we just didn't have enough time). However, I did enjoy the Hungarian cuisine I was able to try – Goulash, which was sooo much better than the versions I've had in the states and now I really want to try making it at home (any recipe recommendations?), and Krakampuli at the Christmas market, which I also enjoyed (better than GlĂźhwein in my opinion!).

Oh and yes, Matthias Church might just be the prettiest I've ever seen!

I think your photos here are gorgeous, and I've been very much enjoying your instagrams as well.

Love your mixed prints outerwear, I'm still in love with the scarf and your gloves look so cozy.
