I know what you’re thinking: “A St. Patrick’s Day-themed outfit post? Really?” I know. I know. But fate played a hand in this one. I actually found this gorgeous lace coat (?) last week and just about died and went to heaven. I suspect it originally had a dress that went with it, but we can’t win ’em all, can we?

This is my grandmother’s sorority bracelet. Nothing beats a super-delicate bracelet in my book. My jewelry box is filled with stuff like this.

These shoes are really old. They’ve been looking awfully lonely on my shoe rack the last few years, but I couldn’t seem to bring myself to get rid of them. Good thing I didn’t or they might not have been able to fulfill their destiny to be part of this outfit. (Please ignore the purple toes. It was a whim.)

Breathtaking! Everything looks so dainty and elegant and just…beautiful. <3

Ooh I bet the lace coat would look awesome with more rugged pieces, too.

First thing that came into my mind…those shoes are kick-ass!!!!

All the pieces sport such intricate, textural details. I love that sort of thing. Gives a piece real weight, literally and figuratively.

Those shoes are seriously Steve Madden? But lord, girl, that coat is a delicate masterpiece! I ADORE it; it looks so sumptuously southern and gothic and GREEN and my GOD, you must take that with you the next time you go to New Orleans. It kind of looks like it belongs there….

Wow, the mixture of lace is really beautiful. My local pub is offering pints of Guinness for £1.50 (cheap) today – it's a scary pub on normal days so I'll be walking a different route home to avoid being vomitted on by a regular.

The green lace jacket is perfect! I love it. And the lace dress is gorgeous as well.

Ha, I wasn't going to wear green today either but wound up giving in. Why not? This is such an amazing coat!!! I would wear that every single day. To the grocery store. And Steve Madden made those shoes? They look way more expensive.

I was just driving to work this morning thinking, wow, I am probably a bad blogger for not doing a St. Patrick's themed post, but it's so hard to associate fashion with a holiday for which I spent the majority of my college career wearing themed t-shirts and attending kegs and eggs parties. So I applaud you! Well done. Every piece of this outfit is so intricate and beautiful. Those shoes are to die for. And is your grandma a KKG? Because that is the sorority I belonged to and one of our symbols was a key!

Reply

I adore that lace coat, it's beautiful and it looks amazing with the cream coloured dress.

Reply

wow, the lace is so beautiful. But, I REALLY love your grandma's sorority bracelet. That's such an awesome piece of family history to work into your wardrobe.

E, part of the reason I enjoy your blog is that your taste in clothing and your sense of style are so different from mine. You always give me something to think about. Like with this outfit… I love those colors, and I love lace, but would I ever end up with an outfit like this? Nope. 😛

Long story short, I adore the vintage lace coat (is it very delicate?) and the dress AND the purple polish.
