My friends and I had our last non-long-distance wine club for a while since one of the founding members is selling his soul to Wall Street. I don’t support the decision, but at least it will give me a good excuse to go shopping in NYC. The theme was Amarone in honor of our fallen Italian soldier. I’m usually more of a French wine kind of girl, but I can’t say I disliked the ones we tried. Oh and we were treated to an equally exotic and delicious meal of grilled squid, parsnip and fennel puree, prosciutto-wrapped scallops with pesto, and blueberry sorbet! Lovely evening, if not a little bittersweet.

I found out this gem of a blouse whilst perusing Market Publique the other day. I don’t usually do a lot of vintage shopping on the internet because I like to be able to closely inspect the items and vintage sizing can be so tricky, but this was such a pleasant surprise, I might have to do it more often.

Love the shoes! But how do you deal with DC's cobblestone streets in them? You must have skills =)

There is great wine from all over the world. But French is my favorite for big Cabs, Chardonnay and Pinot Nior wine.

I once had a sommelier tell me, finding great wine is like finding a great man, you must kiss a lot of duds to find a great one.

Pretty top too.

Oooo I loooove the top Miss Chic. It is FANTASTIC. And you are perfectly lovely as well. Your wine and dine sounds delightful. I can just imagine you sitting all elegant like sampling the vino. Of course you could also be dead drunk and dancing on a table (what do I know?) but I am sure you would be dancing ELEGANTLY on the table…if that were the case. 😉

Looking good E! I love vintage shops but I've never bought anything vintage from an online store.

Good job. I have not been brave enough to venture to online vintage shopping, but I have wanted to try it out. I think I need to keep in mind that sometimes things just need to be hemmed.

What an amazing blouse! My mom used to have all of these poet blouses with big wonderful sleeves that I would steal from her when I was in high school. I still love that style now too! And wine club sounds so fancy especially when you throw in prosciutto and olives and cheese! Best of luck to your friend! About half of my friends work insane 100 hour workweek schedules because they did the same thing!
