a spring accessory trend worth investing in

It seems like every magazine and website is touting accessories in natural materials for spring, but it had me wondering when they’ve ever not been in style. Think about it, heel heights and shoes shapes may change, but isn’t some version of straw, rope, or wood sandal or bag always in style for spring? Take this little bag for example. It’s a Nantucket basket I’ve had for years, but it’s relatively timeless as a summer accessory (and easy to snap up online). So when I was looking for a new summer sandal, I knew this wooden-heeled pair was something worth investing in. The sculptural heels make them eye-catching pieces I’ll wear with sundresses and light pants for years to come. For now, I love the almost regal, French vibes they lend to this cute, puff-sleeved mini dress. If you can believe it, this beautiful location is actually DAR Constitution Hall here in DC, but it’s fun to pretend it’s some beautiful palace overlooking the French Riviera – a girl can dream!
