B and I escaped to the country the weekend before last and spent some time exploring the State Arboretum of Virginia and the quaint little town of Millwood. We started at State Arboretum and FYI, I highly recommend you check out this hidden gem if you get the chance. It’s hardly ever crowded and the perfect place for a picnic. On this particular Sunday, we lucked out and stumbled upon their annual garden fair with an incredible variety of local plants for sale, many of which were native to Virginia. After purchasing a fragrant (and pretty!) pair of mosquito plants for keeping my patio bug-free, we headed over to the Locke Store (which has a fantastic wine selection btw) to pick up a couple pastries for an afternoon snack, then crossed the street to the historic mill to check out Art at the Mill. Afterward, we took a trip down the road to Red Schoolhouse Antiques, which had a pretty drool-worthy and not at all unreasonably-priced selection. If you’re ever in the market for a cool campaign trunk or dining room table, this should be your first stop. We ended the day with a trip to Bluemont Vineyard. Even though I can’t enjoy the wine right now, we’d heard that the views here were incredible and they certainly didn’t disappoint!

Those shoes look like they might actually be comfortable, but fabulous at the same time. Love them. Also, what's one glass of wine? I wouldn't tell.
