First and foremost, I hope all of you in Sandy's path rode out the storm safely and your homes didn't sustain too much (or preferably any) damage. Aside from a rather messy-looking yard this morning, B and I seem to have escaped unscathed. Thinking about all of you north of us right now.

This outfit is a work outfit from a couple weeks ago. A co-worker said it was "very Audrey Hepburn," which was pretty flattering.

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday

Here's an easy and delicious fall cocktail to help you ride out the Frankenstorm. B and I recently checked out the brunch at Eventide, where we first tried this drink that I'm shamelessly replicating now. Simply combine 1 part cider with 2 parts prosecco and garnish with thinly-sliced apple (I used Honeycrisp, which I am obsessed with). It's a great excuse to use the wonderful cider and apples you can find at the farmers' market right now - enjoy!

Of the many scenic walks B and I took around Lake Orta, one of our favorites was a hike up to Sacro Monte di Orta to view a complex of 20 chapels dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. Absolutely stunning experience as you might have guessed.

welcome to the working week
welcome to the working week

When I started this blog four years ago, I really had no idea I would make it this long, but with every year that passes, I'm continually amazed by the creative  people I've met and the wonderful experiences I've had all because of this blog. I'm also constantly blown away by what a friendly and supportive community the style blogging world can be. I've met quite a few bloggers in real life now and they're every bit as lovely in person as they are online - who would have thought? Anyway, enough gushing. Thank you all who continue to read, lurk, comment, and encourage me to keep on posting - I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Here are a few of my favorite posts from the past year...

B and I had the wonderful excuse to visit Orta San Giulio on Lake Orta for a friend's wedding and I think we can safely characterize it as one of the most charming places we've ever been. Gorgeous views, narrow stone-paved streets, adorable shops - the whole bit. Such a romantic location. This was my outfit for the rehearsal dinner, which was accessed by sunset boat ride. Adorable.
