Another errand-running outfit. I know I made great promises of insightful posts, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards at the moment. Let's just stick to the superficial for now, shall we?

Did you all watch the premiere of Mad Men? I have to say I'm very excited for the '60s fashion possibilities. Aside from that great insight, I'm too pleasantly exhausted right now to share anything remotely thought-provoking, but I promise my next post won't be so content devoid. Hope you all enjoyed your weekends!

Totally feeling the scarf print trend right now. It's one of those things I always remember my mom wearing when I was young and hoping I might become grown-up and sophisticated to wear myself one day. Well, I'm not sure I'll go so far as to say I'm a real grown-up yet, but at least with the blouse I can pretend.

the bittersweet between my teeth

the bittersweet between my teeth

This outfit is actually from last weekend (I know, I'm a bad little blogger) - the very night I mentioned I was so ill-prepared for a cold spell. Thankfully that seems to be over now. Anyway, some friends and I went to Tallula for a birthday dinner and were not at all disappointed. Highlights included cornmeal crusted oysters and beef tartare. Wine list was excellent, too.

I was feeling spring-y though it wasn't quite warm enough on Saturday. Tights and button-down to the rescue! Dressing temperature appropriately at this time of year is generally not my forté, as I tend to start shedding layers at the first sight of spring flowers. Don't expect this rare bout of practicality fool you, though. Later that evening, I found myself completely unprepared for the temperature drop. Oops.

For those of us who can't afford Mary Katrantzou (or get their act together to snap up some of her Topshop capsule collection before it sold out), it's nice that Zara has provided such a cool floral print to liven up evening (or daytime) wear. I'm kind of picky when it comes to floral fabrics, so I kind of appreciate the graphic-y nature of this one.

big prints and bright coats

A happy medium between color-blocking and print mixage - I swear Aussies do transitional dressing like no one else!

As promised, here are some better photos of yesterday's vintage purse. If the size and shape weren't enough, the nifty gold tri-handle definitely sealed the deal.  The star print top comes care of this month's sponsor, No Rest for Bridget. I love the petal-like folds and buttons in the back - a perfect balance of sexy and sweet.
