Yesterday, Carla of TPWP and I were noting our tendencies to overwear long flowy things during bouts of hot weather. Such is this piece. If I had paid no heed (or $) to dry-cleaning bills, I’d probably sleep in it.

Trovata dress (old, but stunning alternative by Reiss here)
Adia Kibur necklace (old, but love this KJL one here)
Hermès, Madewell, and Amrita Singh bangles (similar set here)
watch c/o BCBGMAXAZRIA
Zara sandals
purse from a random boutique (another nifty version here)

PS Don’t forget to enter my WHBM giveaway if you haven’t already!

I haven't really tried long dresses, I am always afraid that I am too short, but I might have to give them a try. I always love how the long skirts flow.

I would sleep in this too!

I so want a dress like this. Very pretty.

Your dress, I want. *swoons* I don't mind wearing long flowing pieces in this heat. As long as the material isn't too heavy. Beats wearing jeans, that's for sure.

Great seeing you this weekend and YES, this dress is perfect – I would live in it too! 🙂

I saw you post this on your Tumblr and ERMERGED this outfit is so stunning. I love everything about it–the drapy fabric, the silky belt, the bold gold necklace, all those bangles… your outfits have been right on the money lately, lovely lady!

I do the same thing, and also in reverse, where I wear little and it turns out to be chilly. But anyhooo… the dress is great and I quite like the alternative style too.

I totally agree. If it is long (ie I don't have to shave) and breathes, I will wear it over and over during the summer months. Generally those pieces are worn so often that I only wear them one season before needing to "retire" them. This is a beautiful piece!

Ooooooh, I love this maxi dress, its so fun to see one that's a little different from the usual maxi style. Love how it's a button up with the little slit up the from and the rolled sleeves. 🙂
