current beauty favorites

As you might have noticed from my rudimentary makeup applications, I am not a beauty blogger. However, I like my products as much as the next girl. That being said, here are a few things I’ve been loving lately:

Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner – It took me way too long to realize that less is more when it comes to face cleansing. In the past, I just used this as a toner, but now it’s all I use to clean my face.

Jason Thin-to-Thick Revitalizing Scalp Elixir – I think this is actually meant for hair loss, but it fluffs my hair without making it frizzy and makes it easier to control. Not a small feat considering the unflattering wave my hair generally attempts to create.

Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer – I love the hell out of this product. It makes your skin look like you’re wearing diamond dust. For a long time I used “Warm Radiance” for the whole “sun-kissed glow” look, but lately I’ve been using “Natural Radiance” and it matches my skin tone perfectly.

Tea Tree Oil – Essential for those of us who taste like Sookie Stackhouse to mosquitoes. Not only does it take the itch out and make bug bites go away faster, but it repels them, too.

Frownies Eye Gels – Total grandmother remedy, but these things are great. They reduce puffiness and dark circles much like cucumber slices, but they stick to your face so you can multitask while you have them on. They’re also reusable if you re-wet them with rose water (I just use the Thayer’s toner).

Perricone Cold Plasma – I’m a total Perricone junkie, but this stuff might be my favorite product to date. My skin tone has improved light years since I’ve been using it.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion – Best. Zit. Zapper. Ever.

Arnica Gel – I swear by this stuff. I bruise very easily and I’ve found Arnica reduces bruise visibility time by half. Also great for general muscle aches.

Perricone Eye Lift Synergy Kit – What can I say? I stay up late dilly-dallying on the computer so I appreciate a good under eye treatment. Highly recommend this set.

Hope you all are making it through the week! Only two more days to go!

PS Thank you so much to everyone who sent me San Francisco and Napa suggestions! Keep ’em coming!

Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers are the BEST! Mario Badescu and Perricone are also some excellent picks.

totally need to get some frownies stat!! Also, I've been dying to try the rose petal toner. Right now I religiously put on jojoba oil after washing my face at night and day, but feel like I may need a little more help. Especially after getting so many freckles this summer

Oh, I'm definitely going to have to try that zit zapping stuff. Looks great!
