Old Dominion

Old Dominion

Old Dominion

This is less of a fashion post and more of a "Virginia is one of the most beautiful places on earth" post. I've known this all along, but moving back to the VA has allowed me to get back in touch with my roots. B and I went to Skyline Drive on Sunday. We were late getting started, as we often are, but it ended up working out for the best, because we were able to see the sun set over this incredible view.

It's only an hour away from DC and this is a great time of year to check it out. Everyone add it to their bucket lists now! And I highly recommend you stick around long enough to catch the sunset.

PS Going to NYC this weekend. Any updates on the bedbug epidemic? Do I need to worry about them in certain stores? Where can I shop??!

Patrick's grandparents were at Skyline Drive this past weekend as well! I've never been, sadly, but would like to go soon! SO beautiful. Also, the name of this post attracted me, I go to Old Dominion University!

Beautiful pictures!!! And I'm totally freaked out by the bed bug epidemic, too. My boyfriend lives up in NYC so I travel back and forth quite a bit. I usually take the bus between DC and NY and I'm paranoid that my luggage will get infested when I place it down in the compartment with everyone elses bag! So far, so good though, and I haven't encountered any infested stores yet either...whew!

I am of the opinion that Virginia is the best state in the nation, but perhaps I'm biased. Though I'm happy to be in Minnesota right now because the weather is gorgeous, I'm also madly homesick and these photos remind me of what I've got to look forward to when I come home. I don't know. The only place in the world for me, I think, is VA. Oh! But my man and I are visiting New Orleans in mid October -- you're often there, right? Have any restaurant recs? I loved your suggestions for DC, so I feel like we're on a simpatico wavelength. Anyway, you look lovely in an anorak, but we always knew that :)

The skyline and the cape like anorak are gorgeous.
Both are now on my bucket list.

Such beautiful shots. I've been to VA a bunch and have always hated it, (because the only tickets I've ever had were received in VA ... WTF is up with the highway patrol? How does the state have the budget for air patrol to find speeders? They should send the VA's police force to find Jimmy Hoffa!)but I dont ever remember it being so beautiful.

its so beautiful. I've been to DC twice and never explored outside of it, one day I'll have to. It's funny cause theres not much outside of vegas unless you go to california, but I'm going to try to get my work done this weekend so I can go to Utah!

xo hope you are well!

NYC is fine don't worry... i've not heard of any new stores with the problem but i believe that as long as you stay away from most of the touristy shops and movie theaters you'll be fantastic!
