the "all 'round" dress

I was lucky enough to attend the Marriage of Figaro at the Kennedy Center last week. I have to say I’m always partial to the comedies and you really can’t go wrong with Mozart. I was quite impressed by the cast, too.

This dress has been one of my weekday cocktail hour/wedding/cultural event staple dresses for a long time and I realized I’ve never shared it on the blog! Even though wrap dresses might not be so “in” right now, I find that this dress can be such an easy dress up/dress down option when I don’t want to think about creating an ensemble.

I love that dress, but it's the print that attracts me.

Ah, Pour la Victoire! I adore them. And you look a million feet tall in this! In a good way, of course. Glad the opera was great!

I think wrap dresses are really always at least a bit in. They're just classic. I'd love to own a DVF. She's one of my faves.

The bracelet is so pretty too!

I love Mozart too! This dress is just perfect. I'm glad you dressed up to go – a lot of the time I go to the opera/classical music events and I see people in jeans who just couldn't be bothered! I think it's an act of respect to the performers to dress for the occassion. Oh, and an excuse to put on a pretty dress 🙂

There's a special place in my heart for DVF dresses. They can go from professional to fun with just a few different accessories. And that one is gorgeous on you!

Issa and DvF dresses are always right, I think. They are real no-brainers. Mozart is such a joy, I remember seeing 'The Magic Flute' as a child and for weeks trying to hit the high note of the Queen of the Night. My poor family…

Love the pattern. But THOSE HEELS!!!! AHHH gimme gimme gimee!!!!

I think you must have the most amazing collection of shoes I've ever seen!

Absolutely amazing! So lady like, so demure, so tasteful! I enjoy coming to this blog because it's help to reaffirm my all time belief that my hometown of Washington, D.C. is the understated chicest place I know and love. Thank you!!!! We should definitely do a blogger shoot together when I'm home for Memorial Day.

in love with your shoes.

I have the same Pour la Victoire heels in a green/grey combo. I love them (obviously) but I find them to be pretty uncomfortable. They rub the back of my heels :/ Good idea pairing them with tights!!

Reply

those heels are incredible .i love the color of the heel it looks super interesting with a touch of timelessness

You have the best heels… these are fab !

isn’t it amazing how certain outfits or combinations of pieces are saved for specific events? i have a couple tops that i rotate whenever i go to political events around the city – kind of like a security blanket? anyways your DVF dress is a remarkable pick – it is detailed without being overwhelming and wrap dresses are always classic!
