walk under the clouds of a sunnny day

I’m not sure what it is, but I seem to be reverting back to pieces that were once my favorites eons ago.  This sweater is one of said pieces – still as soft and fluffy as the day I bought it.  I liked the contrast it created against the zippered leather skirt.  Oh and I’m absolutely addicted to these cream-colored fishnets from American Apparel and intend to order more in different pastel colors.  They feel like gauze, but they’re actually quite durable.

Misikko was so kind to send me one of their hair straighteners (the Hanah Elite, to be specific) for review. Believe it or not, I actually used to use a flat iron back in the day when I had a “shag” haircut, but my current hairstyle hadn’t really required it. Friday was cold and rainy and the fact that I neglected to bring an umbrella provided a perfect opportunity to take this bad boy for a spin.  The package that Misikko sent me also included a styling creme, which I took advantage of as my hair is prone to breakage. At first, I was concerned it might make my hair too greasy, but it infused nicely into my hair as I used the straightening iron. It took a little getting used to handling one of these again, but I pleasantly surprised how easy the thinner plates were to maneuver over a short hairstyle. Another revelation: it is, in fact, possible to create volume in thin hair using a flat iron. I found that turning the iron outwards at the roots and keeping it perpendicular to my scalp as I ran it down my hair worked just as well, if not better than blow-drying with a round brush.  This is definitely the best flat iron that I’ve tried and I’m sure that those of you who have used one will agree that quality is key.

I'm loving your clogs. If only I could wear heels I'd be so all over them.

Dang it, I've been wanting to hate clogs, but you're making them look so good! Now I'm confused! I'm sure it's your overall look that makes them look great! 🙂

You look so more neat and clean, E.

love this look..the soft fuzzy sweater and the zippered skirt are a nice contrast…though I'm sure that sweater would make me itch!!!

I agree quality it key with flat irons…I've been using my Sedu straightener since college and while my fine hair requires nothing special, so far it's the only known straightener that's been able to straighten the curly locks of my bff!

Your hair looks great in this photo, I'm glad the Misikko worked out for ya….I've heard they're quality flat irons, too!

I love nude fishnets! Unfortunately, the only ones I have are majorly uncomfortable — I'll have to check those out.

In the market for a new flatiron, so glad for the review!
Pretty fishnets, love the color and the balance with the sweater.

Love the look. I actually owned very similar pieces in my closet (minus the clogs) so I might steal this look. Instead of the clogs I will go with these really cute black heels with zipper detail (BCBG) I bought from TJ Max earlier last month. It would have to be for going out since I don't see the tight mini skirt working well with the kids during the day! 🙂

I am sold on the clogs E 😀 I have been resisting the idea but not for a moment more! 🙂

Wonderful look and as Daphne above me said I might steal this look too! 😀

That flat iron looks pretty sweet. Maybe I'll look that that brand once my old one craters (I already melted a plastic foot off my mom's ironing board with it about 4 years ago, but it still works!)

I use flat iron straightener (almost everyday), but I've never heard about Misikko, I must read something! 🙂

Another great look with the clogs. Thanks for the review of the flat iron. I sometimes run an iron over my curly hair and need to be careful because my hair is very coarse.
