I have an affinity for all things Fair Isle.  I used to have a few of my mom’s sweaters from the 70s that I wore to death in high school (literally, or I’d still be wearing them), so I always keep my eyes peeled for similar pieces.  I saw this sweater at Old Navy a couple years ago and couldn’t resist the cable-knit detail on the collar and the wonderfully puffy short sleeves.  This skirt used to be another staple of mine and I was delighted to rediscover it the other day.  It kind of feels like wearing an evening dress in the way it flows when I walk.  Glad to have you back, old friend.

Somewhat crazed by the holiday sales and shopping, I sprung for this KMRii bag that I had been drooling over for months.  I don’t regret my decision, though my wallet might.

I could take this in doses large enough to kill...

I’m not very kind to handbags, so I was immediately drawn to the rough and tumble personality of this bag.  It’s kind of refreshing to find something studded that’s not so “in your face,” too.

Old Navy sweater
Target t-shirt
Illig skirt
KMRii bag
DKNY boots
H&M “leather” jacket

PS I want to thank her armoire for the award! She has a great sense of style and picked some of my favorite looks from other bloggers that I check on a regular basis.

You are truly, truly too stunning for words, E – as is your wardrobe! You look six-feet tall in this ensemble; and I'm absolutely loving the quilted jacket and boots. I too have an obsession with fair isle knits!

Happy, Happy New Year my love!! 🙂

snazzy bag. i do have pieces old and new that i wear to death. ; )

you look great E! maxi skirts have been everywhere lately… i need to dig mine out – perfect for the winter.
and i like how the bag is studded in more of a "i can weather through anything" way than "rah rah im so badass"
hahh, if that made any sense..

I love the long skirt and the handbag was a great snag! xoxo

G-damn, I love a long skirt on a tall girl. One of my favorites, here. The black and white, the bag, the stomping boots (holy mother, I envy!) — it all comes together to form AWESOMENESS.

Thank you so much for stopping by our blog! This post has two of my favorite things: long skirts and fair isle. I used to have a red fair isle cardigan that my best friend's mom bought me in seventh grade and I wore it all through high school and college until it was just moth bitten, cheesecloth cardigan. I want to find a replacement after seeing your outfit post.

i'm still kicking myself for getting rid of a 1980s ralph lauren fair isle sweater that i found at a thrift store when i was in college. it was tans, reds, and pinks, had puffy sleeves, and buttoned up one shoulder. what was i thinking?!?!

I am lusting over this bag. I agree, the studs are amazing.
