I kind of picture her waking up in the morning, doing the Bewitched nose wiggle and miraculously looking flawless. Speaking of the Bewitched magic nose wiggle, can anyone do that? I remember trying my damnedest as a child and never managing to get my nose to do that.

The lovely Cocorosa tagged me for some blog soul-spilling...

What is your current obsession?
Netflix, I spend way too much time rating movies and adding things to my queue.

What is your weirdest obsession?
Forensic Files – don’t ask me why. I’ve just always been into police/FBI shows.

What are you wearing today?

I get to come home and spend time with my wonderful husband – B made me say that, but it’s true (I guess, jk).

What would you like to learn to do?
Lots of things… sew, dance (not-so-ridiculously), more Adobe Illustrator skills

What's the last thing you bought?
a khaki skirt, a sparkly black t-shirt, and a black bandage dress – all from H&M

What are you listening to right now?
a strange mix of things on my iPod: Hall & Oats (go ahead and judge, I don’t care), Lady Gaga (obv.), Wilco, Sheena Easton, the Sounds, Corb Lund, and Reckless Kelly

What is your favorite weather?
Fall weather, when it’s getting cooler, but still light out after I leave work

What is your most challenging goal right now?
cleaning my apartment in a timely manner

What do you think about the person who tagged you?
she’s very creative and I’m envious of her vintage-hunting/design skills

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
ummm, I’m going to pick three here because I can: First Paris, Second New Orleans, Third here (DC)

What would you like to have in your hands right now?
a Reuben sandwich or a donut

What would you like to get rid of?
a bunch of crap in my closet that I never wear anymore

If you had $100 now, what would you spend it on?
something I most likely don’t need

Favorite designer?
Ricardo Tisci

Your favorite thing right now?
My new Jeffrey Campbell shoes

Chloe Sevigny, Lady Gaga (sorry, I’m predictable), Julie Budet of Yelle, Daphne Guinness

Describe your personal style?
not consistent, really

What are you going to do after this?
Watch the rest of War, Inc then the new episode of Make Me a Supermodel

intricate, delicate jewelry

What is would you be doing right now if you have no work/school/responsibilities/general obligations to anyone or anything?
Going to a bar with friends

the rules:
1. respond and rework; answer the questions on your blog, replace one question that you dislike with a question of your invention, add one more question of your own?
2. Tag eight other people

I apologize if you've already done this. If so, feel free to ignore :-)

Fictional Creature on the Loose

Currently listening to Cool for Cats (Squeeze)

On Sunday, R and I braved the oppressive heat in the name of art...sort of. I really just lent her my neck so she could photograph some of her amazing enamel pieces. And I figured while she was at it, she could take some pics of me acting like a crazed wood nymph/sprite/faerie (not to be confused with fairie) romping around Rock Creek Park. I present the insanity...

K and I got all dressed up and ready to go out on Friday, only to end up staying in, drinking red wine, and watching Lady Gaga videos over and over again, trying to master the choreography. It was a truly magical evening. Now added to the K and E to-do list: hip hop dance classes.

As for the shoes, I am in love! Every time they catch my eye, I have to smile because they look like jewelry on my feet. I totally lucked out and managed to nab a pair, as they seem to be selling out everywhere.

A Good Pink Blazer Is Hard to Find

A Good Pink Blazer Is Hard to Find

I searched high and low for a blazer with big shoulders in an obnoxiously bright pink hue. I'm sad to say all of my go-to retail staples let me down, but I was lucky enough to discover this gem at a local thrift store for a measly $11! Can you believe it?? I love it because it totally gives that 80s power suit edge to an impromptu dinner date outfit, such as this one.

Not-So-Secret Garden

B and I thought it would be nice to go for a walk in the great outdoors on Sunday so we ventured over to Dumbarton Oaks. I think it might be one of the most beautiful places to visit in DC in the Spring.

One Shot, One Beer and a Kiss Before I Go

Red Red Wine

When I saw this Balmain loo
k, I instantly fell in love. And though I can't find a blouse with such fabulous shoulders or a leather skirt with such beautiful quilting, I do love the wonderful contrast that the leather skirt and satin blouse create. Anyway, this was my version.

Sidenote for DC peeps: Axis is a pleasant surprise on a Friday night. Not too crowded and excellent beer selection.

Lula and Sailor-Inspired

I often get inspired sartorially by films, especially by ones with femme fatales. I think when you dress like a certain character, it inspires you to act a little differently than you might otherwise. I think almost every girl has had that pair of shoes or that dress that has made her feel a little bit...dangerous. Anyway, Lula definitely embodies the pulp novel sexpot and I thought it might be fun to do some paper doll outfits for her, Sailor, and Perdita.

Lula and Sailor-Inspired
American Apparel dress, vintage Vivaldi shoes, Belle du Jour gold earrings, Christopher Kane shirt, Sass and Bide jeans, Golden Goose boots

Sailor and Lula-Inspired,
vintage bodycon dress, Dolce and Gabanna lace thong, Wet Seal sunglasses, Kova & T jeans

Perdita-Inspired
shu uemura pink lipstick, Yves St. Laurent eyebrow pencil, vintage stud bondage dress, vintage lace dress

Side note: I'm pretty obsessed with pretty much all the dresses I've posted here.

This whole world's wild at heart and weird on top.

The weather was absolutely beautiful on Sunday.

Subjected B to Wild at Heart tonight. I'm pretty sure he was really weirded out. I kinda like it, but then again I like (really) strange movies. Random side note: I'm surprised David Lynch and Dwight Yoakam haven't collaborated on a movie yet.

I'm such a fan of two-tone footwear, it's not even funny. Danielle from Solestruck sent me these awesome shoes and they inspired me to dress all Blair-Waldorf-like. Interestingly enough, more than one of my male friends complemented me on them - no idea what that means, but it thought I'd share anyway.

JCDC, You're a Funny Man

Where would we be without designers like Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to liven things up a bit?

I'm all about my new vest. It's very sassy. And I kinda went nuts on tank tops at Forever 21. Definitely bringing back the early 90s neon over-sized beach-tastic vibe. Now all I need is a neon hat to wear backwards and my collection will be complete.
