hey! been tryin' to meet you

hey! been tryin' to meet you

B and I finally went to see Inglorious Basterds yesterday. Though my patience for Quentin Tarantino wanes, I thought it was entertaining and the Austrian actor who played the creepy German officer was really quite phenomenal.

Oh, so this top has been waiting patiently in my closet for some years now, hoping that bustier tops might come back into style. Its wish was granted and I’ve now found an appropriate way to wear it that does not involve black pants, heels, and nothing else. Thankfully, I do not dwell upon its past indiscretions.

ancient Express top
vintage pants
H&M sweater
wolf necklace from a Colorado jeweler
Mellow Yellow shoes
vintage Ralph Lauren clutch

PS I need to share the wealth: Christian Siriano is officially on sale at Payless today and the designs look amazing! I ordered 2 pairs of shoes already and there’s more to come!!

love the shoes. I think I used to have that top but in like silver. Oh the shame of dark jeans and "going out" tops. Love it in this new context though 🙂

Thank you soo much for your amazing comment on my incredibly crybaby post the other day haha… I totally know what you mean about the boyfriend thing. At this point I'm almost using him as an escape from my current living situation… but either way its unhealthy. It definitely won't last much longer. And you are wise, but certainly not old haha. It definitely helps to get perspective from people who have been through it already (if it was just a couple months or years and years ago). You are quickly becoming one of my most favorite bloggers, bc of your style obv but also you seem like such a legit person. Good combo. k I'm done haha.

don't you just love the movie – to me, it was just so stylishly made – from music to the plots, a mash-up of many different elements yet was able to distinguish itself from anything out there … oh, the german officer was the true star of the movie …. anyway, you looked beautiful here and those shoes are so funky yet classic – love, xoxo

Awesome sweater. I have the exact same Express top in a different color! It has criss cross straps in the back, right? Mine has also been hanging in my closet for quite some time b/c I like it but just can't seem to find a good way to wear it. I like how you're wearing it!

this is one of my favorite outfits of yours so far! I love the overall slouchy-ness of the ensemble with the more graphic heels and clutch…awesome colors.

and lol w/the black pants bit. except, for me, exchange the black pants for a pair of those enormous black platform flip floppy things.

You've made me want a bustier top. I love the fact that it has a very boudoir style with feminine details that looks perfect when topped with a blazer or cardigan. Gorgeous ensemble, darling – so perfect for the office! 🙂
